Novel monitoring of coast and sea enviroment: the geophysical parameters
In the framework of the MONICA project a monitoring network based on fiber optic communication which will connect traditional and innovative sensors is planned. The monitoring activity will be performed on emerged and submerged areas in Pozzuoli Gulf, in order to realize an early warning system for hydrogeological and volcanic risk. Among others the geophysical parameters will be also monitored by means of Fiber Bragg Grating – based innovative sensors: in particular static, dynamic and acoustic deformations are considered. New configurations of the FBG based deformation detector are studied.
