High bit-rate generation and stabilization of solitary-waves by means of integrated-optics frequency shifter and filter

Abstract: We report the observation of self-organization of light in train of solitary-pulses in a fiber laser operating either in the normal or in the anomalous dispersion regime. The laser includes a monolithically integrated LiNbO3 frequency shifter that continuously slides the optical frequency in the active fiber loop and a passband filter.
