Pulse-train generation and strong frequency conversion in a birefringent fiber

Abstract: We have observed ultra-high repetition rate (0.2-0.3 THz) soliton-like pulse trains and strong frequency conversion from the polarization modulational instability induced by mixing pump and probe light beams in a birefringent fiber.
