Duty ratio control of nonlinear phase noise in dispersion managed WDM systems using RZ-DPSK modulation

Abstract: We show that the performance of dispersion managed WDM systems using the RZ-DPSK modulation format as limited by nonlinear mixing between signal and noise may be significatively improved by properly adjusting the signal duty ratio.
