Abstract: Optical pulse reshaping in nonlinear coherent two-level amplifiers may lead to time-compressed, quasi-parabolic intensity profiles with linear chirp. Nonlinear coherent amplifiers may generate pulses with spectral width larger than the linear gain bandwidth. ©2010 IEEE.
