Abstract: In this work we propose a vapor-condensation method to synthesize SnO 2 nanowires for detection of nerve agents simulants. To have a deeper insight of the novel properties of this class of materials we compare the sensing performances of nanowires with SnO2 films synthesized by means of RGTO method, chosen as representative of well-established technique for gas sensing application. Results highlight that nanowires exhibit improved performances. These are discussed on the basis of the structural peculiarities of this material class.
