Abstract: The purpose of this chapter is to introduce the fundaments of colorimetry: It illustrates the most important and frequently employed chromatic quantities and laws. These elements are essential to define and describe color concepts, chromatic human eye perception, and color measurement. Colorimetry can be defined as the scientific–technological discipline physically describing and quantifying human color perception.
