Abstract: The project aims at applying non-linear microscopic techniques, such as MPEF, SHG and THG, to define the thickness of painting layers and the components of pigments, to create a 3D model on different scales and resolutions for the morphological analysis of the superficial layer and to apply new dating techniques for defining the historic framework of the artworks.
The project is in collaboration with the Opificio delle Pietre Dure in Florence.
