Primary activity: I contributed to the development and characterization of an optomechanical platform based on self-mixing interferometry, in which a mid-infrared quantum cascade laser (QCL) is used for the dynamic readout of a mechanical membrane driven by optical forces generated by a near-infrared beam, enabling information transduction between different infrared spectral regions.
In parallel, within the recently launched European project FORESIGHT, with the aim of developing a LIDAR system, I have initiated activities focused on the design and implementation of an apparatus operating at 9.5 µm for the detection of gaseous species inside smoke plumes, contributing to the definition of the optical architecture, technology choices, and the setup of the planned experimental activities.Main experiences acquired: Quantum and levitated optomechanics
Optical interferometry (homodyne, heterodyne, self-mixing)
High-precision measurements and advanced sensing
Design, implementation, and alignment of complex optical systems
Continuous and pulsed laser sources (from visible to mid-infrared and THz)
Optoelectronic systems and detection techniques for complex environments
Data analysis, physical modeling, and numerical simulations
Development of experimental setups under vacuum and ultra-high vacuum (UHV)
Experiment automation and control (Python, Matlab, Mathematica)
Supervision of students and research activities within national and European projectsPublications, Research Results, now, in INO’s database are: 10 – Papers JCR/ISI Journals, are: 10 – Books or Chapters, are: 0 – Papers in Journals not indexed JCR/ISI, are: 0 – Conference proceedings, are: 0 – Abstract, are: 0Bibliometric indices are calculated USING ONLY THE INO DATABASE and the number of citations from “WEB OF SCIENCE” (of Thomson Reuters) is updated at 2026-02-22 – maximum number of citations for an article: 27 – maximum impact factor (IF) for a journal when an article is published: 19.684 – H-INDEX: 7 G-INDEX: 9 HC-INDEX (contemporary): 5 – List of TopTen papers in citations – List of TopTen journals in Impact Factor
