Dark ground microscopy with detuned interference filters

Abstract: An optical setup based on the operation of suitably detuned interference filters to produce oblique illumination for dark ground microscopy is presented. The obtainable performance is illustrated with a series of experimental evidence on calibration targets and on biological samples.
