Abstract: An optimal system design using proper dispersion management in transmission lines is presented. The design has a unit cell which has the length of the amplifier spacing and consists of standard fibers (SF) and a dispersion compensating fiber (DCF). It is accomplished through periodic alignment of fibers with anomalous and normal dispersion. The analytical expression obtained contains all fiber data and launch point of the signal. It minimizes the mean error with respect to the average soliton. And results decreased in the average dispersion and an improve system performance.
