Abstract: The stimulated-Raman-scattering (SRS) processes, including the wavelength switching and suppression, in a multifrequency pump field of a single mode fibers are studied using a mathematical model and numerical simulations. A suitable choice of the power distribution among the frequency components of the pump field allows the suppression of SRS.
