Researchers of the National Institute of Optic of the National Research Council in Florence, Marco Bellini and Alessandro Zavatta, realized for the first time in the laboratory a new state of the light in which two light pulses are inextricably linked, the optical equivalent of the paradox known as’ Schrödinger’s cat ‘. The research, published in the Nature Photonics cover in JJuly, will allow a better understanding of the boundary between classical and quantum physics, and opens to a future communication network and computer performance.
