The JEM-EUSO (“Extreme Universe Space Observatory”) mission is a Japanese-led space experiment, with collaborations all over Europe and Americas, for the detection of ultra high energy cosmic rays through their interaction with the Earth’s atmosphere. INO, RIKEN (Tokyo), UAH and NASA (Huntsville, AL) are collaborating for the design, manufacturing and testing of a space telescope formed by an unconventional set of Fresnel+diffractive lenses up to 2.65m diameter.
A brief presentation of RIKEN laboratories is included.
