A new chip for quantum computers promises to ‘democratize’ the world of research. It’s called Tunnel Falls, it has just 12 qubits, the quantum version of the classic bits, and was developed by Intel, one of the world leaders in the production of traditional microchips. The stated goal is to make a processor available to the entire scientific community.
