Optical wireless communications (owc) and visible-light communications (vlc)
The Research group on VLC develops and characterizes smart optical wireless communication systems for next generation of IoT, Smart City and Intelligent Transportation Systems applications. Lighting elements such as LED lamps, ubiquitous in infrastrucutres and vehicles, are exploited to provide high-speed, directional data connections, whre informations is encoded into light through advanced modulation schemes. Digital TX, Rx and DSP stages are developed and tested by means of AVR and FPGA platforms. Advanced optelectronic TX and RX stages are designed and developed.
