Abstract: A CaF2 whispering gallery mode microresonator is used for frequency stabilization and linewidth narrowing of a mid-IR quantum cascade laser. Sub-Doppler recording of a CO2 transition demonstrates the suitability of the system for high-resolution spectroscopy.
