Abstract: IPERION CH is a consortium of infrastructures composed of research centres, universities and important culture institutions of different countries, which aims to establish a unique permanent pan-European Research Infrastructure (RI) in the field.
IPERION CH is focussed on creating a fertile background for overcoming fragmentation, rationalising resources and fostering breakthrough discoveries, advancing the international role of European cultural heritage research.
IPERION CH offers Access to an integrated group of world-class facilities and cutting-edge scientific tools. Its highly qualified partners share a common history of scientific cross-disciplinary collaboration, as certified by previous successful initiatives.
IPERION CH operates as a distributed RI, offering three Transnational Access programmes to complementary groups of unique facilities:
• Access to organised scientific information, such as analytical data and conservation documentation, held in the archives and databases of prestigious European museums and conservation institutions.
• Access to an impressive set of advanced mobile analytical equipment for in situ non-invasive measurements on precious,
fragile or immovable objects that cannot be analysed in scientific laboratories; • Access to European world-class large-scale facilities for cutting-edge scientific investigations on samples, or full objects, giving essential and invaluable insights for scientifically-based conservation needs.
