Mid-infrared octave spanning frequency comb generation in silicon microrings

Abstract: We numerically show that octave-spanning Kerr frequency comb generation in the MIR spectral region may be obtained from planar microring resonators, by combining analytical dispersion engineering with generalized nonlinear envelope equation simulations of the temporal frequency comb dynamics.
