Abstract: We study, experimentally and numerically, the light propagation through woodpile Photonic Crystal (PhC) filled with Liquid Crystal (LC). The phase transition between the nematic and isotropic LC states leads to observable variation of the spatial light pattern transmitted through such structure, which is a novel approach to control the light propagation in photonic devices.© 2015 IEEE
