Primary activity: During my research career I’ve been dealing with advanced optical microscopy techniques, with particular experience in single molecule fluorescence microscopy. Through both tracking and super-resolution imaging experiments I study molecular motors, such as myosins, and the architecture of the actin cytoskeleton in eukaryotic cells and how its structure is influenced by external and internal mechanical stimuli. I also apply super-resolution microscopy to the study of bacteria to understand the molecular mechanisms underlying antibiotic resistance and other epigenetic mechanisms.
As a researcher, I actively participate in experimental work and at the same time I coordinate the research of postdocs and PhD students, together with writing of papers, projects and other dissemination activities.

Main experiences acquired: She has been working in the field of microscopy and optics since the beginning of her PhD in 2011. She has longstanding experience in the design and fabrication of advanced microscopes, with particular application to single-molecule fluorescence microscopy and super-resolution microscopy.
