Primary activity: a) test development and optical testing (interferometry and imaging) for fligh and engineering modules of FSL (Fluid Science LAboratory), a Columbus module payload for study of fluids in microgravity environment for the International Space Station; scientific and technical assistance for dedicated experiments. Test done in Alenia Space (Turin, ITA), MASR (Naples, ITA), EADS (Bremen, GER), NASA – Kennedy Space Center (USA)
b) contribution for development of EUSO mission up to the end of phase A, contribution to the optics design of the japanese mission JEM-EUSO (in collaboration with NASA-MSFC and RIKEN labs. Tokyo); contribution to the optics design for the mission Super-EUSO within the european proposal “Cosmic Vision”, with similar scientific purposes and different optics concept;
c) contribution to the feasibility study for the optics in the frame of the ALC (Advanced Lidar Concept) contract with ESA, a spaceborn Lidar with a telescope made of a lightweight deployable mirror with active control
d) contribution to optical analyses for industrial projects, in colaboration with italian and foreign partners, especially with Galileo Avionica

Main experiences acquired: feasibility study for the optics subsystem for space mission for various scientific purposes (Earth observation ,cosmic rays detection..)
optical design for various elements
optical testing for optics instrumentation, specially for space use
