Abstract: The “FIRMOS – Technical Assistance for a Far-Infrared Radiation Mobile Observation System” project will support the ground-based testing of a far infrared prototype in preparation of the FORUM (Far-infrared Outgoing Radiation Understanding and Monitoring) ESA Earth Explorer candidate mission. In particular, the work is focusing on the preparation of s Fourier transform spectrometer and the execution of ground-based measurements in 2018-19 from a high-altitude site (Zugspitze observatory, Germany) to demonstrate the measurement capabilities for the FORUM space application.,

INO’s Experiments/Theoretical Study correlated:
Atmospheric Radition Explorer in the Far InfraRed

The Scientific Results:
1) Spectral measurements of the atmospheric downwelling far-infrared radiation at the Zugspitze observatory
