On the occasion of the opening ceremony dell’IYL2015 in Paris on 19th and 20th January the only Italian scientist called to intervene was Alessandro Farini of the National Optical of the National Research Council Ino-CNR and University of Florence. Farini is expert psychophysics of vision and its research aims to deepen the inseparable bond between the light and visual perception. The intervention of Monday 19th has deepened as the light is able to interact with the visual system of the human being and affect the color vision. Numerous examples are presented: the colorimetric measurements made on the works of art by famous artists to the examples of perceptual famous optical illusions. A test was carried out illuminating the artwork of Giovanna Rasario using dynamic LED lights to highlight how the color perception of the work is inextricably linked to the type of light sent.
